Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and special-purpose machines. Your responsibilities will include installing, adjusting, and repairing machinery, operating various hand and power tools, and performing general repairs to plant structures. You will also work closely with the maintenance electrician to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues. Responsibilities Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special-purpose machines as needed. Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Weld and use a cutting torch as required. Perform general repairs to plant structures. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Troubleshoot machinery to support the production staff. Collaborate with the maintenance electrician to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues. Install equipment and electrical components, ensuring proper functioning. Observe mechanical devices and equipment, and listen for sounds to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble. Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Replace and install parts as needed. Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis. Essential Skills At least 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Ability to operate hand tools and read blueprints. Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions and schematics. Strong safety ethics and ability to demonstrate Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED, preferred. Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing facility with approximately 50 employees. The environment is fast-paced and results-oriented, offering a supportive team atmosphere. The dress code requires long pants (jeans or dickies) and steel-toed shoes. The position is on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, with flexibility for schedule adjustments and weekend work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hazleton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
