We're hiring one person to own everything that keeps our properties running, and we mean everything. Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, doors and windows, flooring, roofing and gutters, masonry and concrete, tile, cabinetry, appliances, furnaces and air handlers, grounds and snow. If it can break on a building, you're the person who fixes it. We do not want a specialist. We want someone who has spent years doing the full range of hands-on work that any property throws at you, and who would rather fix it themselves than call someone. We rarely bring in outside contractors and we'd like to keep it that way.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Handle all repairs, maintenance, and small projects across our Homestead buildings, inside and out
• Framing, trim, drywall, doors, windows, flooring, and finish work

• Plumbing:

  fixtures, supply and drain lines, water heaters, sump pumps

• Electrical:

  outlets, switches, lighting, circuits, panel troubleshooting
• Furnace and air handler service, thermostats, filters, blower motors, condensate lines
• Roofing repairs, flashing, gutters, siding, exterior painting, masonry repointing, concrete patching
• Tile, cabinetry, countertops, appliance repair and replacement
• Grounds, seasonal work, and snow removal
• Keep a stocked shop and parts inventory; manage the occasional outside vendor when something requires a license or a stamp

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 8+ years of broad, hands-on experience across all of the trades above, not one or two of them
• Comfortable diagnosing a problem you haven't seen before and figuring it out
• Able to work independently, prioritize your own day, and communicate clearly with the people whose space you're working in
• Valid driver's license and clean record (you may be driving a company vehicle)
• A plus, not required: Pittsburgh electrical license, Allegheny County plumbing license, or journeyman card in any trade

PAY AND BENEFITS

• $85,000 to $95,000 depending on experience
• Signing bonus
• Company vehicle or vehicle allowance under consideration
• Tools provided or tool allowance

• Monday to Friday daytime schedule, steady work, no travel, one employer
