Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities through a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks. Your expertise will help create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills, technical knowledge, and customer service abilities in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and facilities equipment. Repair or replace electrical components and equipment using schematics, hand tools, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters. Conduct carpentry tasks such as repairs to interior structures, doors, windows, and furniture to maintain building integrity. Handle plumbing system maintenance and repairs including leaks, pipe fittings, fixtures, and drainage issues. Maintain painting tasks for building interiors and exteriors to uphold aesthetic standards. Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical schematics to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently. Assist with HVAC system repair and routine servicing to ensure optimal climate control. Support facilities equipment maintenance by inspecting, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs promptly. Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests with professionalism and urgency. Lead small maintenance projects or assist in larger ones while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience in general maintenance, repair work, or facilities management with a strong mechanical background. Proficiency with hand tools, electrical equipment repair, plumbing systems, carpentry, welding, and HVAC systems. Knowledge of schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems; ability to interpret technical diagrams effectively. Ability to perform electrical work safely using tools such as ohmmeters; familiarity with electrical codes is a plus. Strong understanding of building interior maintenance including painting and general repairs. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions or explanations when needed. Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or lead small teams on maintenance tasks. Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. Join us as a vital part of our facilities team!
