Float Pool Job Type:

More about our team Join Conemaugh Health's Float Team and gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting patient care across a variety of clinical settings. As a Nurse Technician, you'll have the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations and develop your skills in a dynamic healthcare environment. Float Team assignments may vary from day to day and can include Medical/Surgical, Progressive Care (PCU), Step-Down, and Behavioral Health units. You may also assist in caring for patients awaiting admission or transfer from the Emergency Department or ICU. This role provides broad clinical exposure and opportunities to learn from experienced healthcare professionals across multiple specialties. Specialty areas supported by the Float Team include Trauma, Surgery, Neurology, Progressive Care/Telemetry, Palliative Care, Critical Care Step-Down, and Behavioral Health. Through ongoing education, training, and mentorship, Nurse Technicians can expand their knowledge while contributing to high-quality patient care. Our Float Team utilizes advanced scheduling and communication technology to provide flexibility and efficiency. Daily assignments and important updates are easily accessible through mobile applications, ensuring you stay informed and connected throughout your shift. How you'll contribute A Nursing Technician (NT) who excels in this role: Participates in Patient Care Team's delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient's spiritual and cultural differences. Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in delivery of patient care. Orients patient and family to room and call bell. Upon admission, obtain initial vital signs, height and weight. Records daily I & O, vital signs, and food intake into the electronic medical record. Transports patients via appropriate means in a safe, dignified manner. Adheres to patient activity restrictions. Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and reports patient/family concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team members . Additional requirements include:
Completion of Nurse Aide Program or experience in related field Two years' experience as a nursing assistant Basic Life Support or acquire within 3 months of hire One-year acute care experience, post-acute experience preferred Basic Life Support or acquire within introductory period, dysrhythmia within one year of hire.
