Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and aesthetic appeal of residential apartment communities. Your expertise will help create a comfortable, well-maintained environment for residents and staff alike. Duties Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation. Conduct repairs on electrical equipment using schematics and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters, ensuring all work complies with safety standards. Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage to prevent leaks and ensure proper function. Carry out carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, cabinets, drywall, and other interior features to uphold building aesthetics. Utilize hand tools and power tools for maintenance painting, facilities equipment maintenance, welding, and other repair activities. Diagnose issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems to troubleshoot complex problems efficiently. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents or property management with excellent customer service skills. Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, schematics, and maintenance logs for compliance and operational efficiency. Assist with building interior maintenance projects including painting, drywall repair, and general facilities upkeep. Support leadership by mentoring junior team members and contributing to a safe work environment through adherence to safety protocols. Requirements Proven experience in residential or commercial maintenance with a strong understanding of facilities maintenance principles. Proficiency in electrical work including electrical equipment repair and electrical system troubleshooting using schematics and testing tools like ohmmeters. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system troubleshooting and repair. Skilled in carpentry, painting (including residential painting), welding, plumbing, and general facilities upkeep. Familiarity with electrical equipment repair, and maintenance of building interior systems. Ability to operate hand tools effectively along with specialized equipment such as schematics readers or facility-specific diagnostic tools. Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and resident interactions. Experience working with Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) procedures in a residential or commercial setting is preferred.
