Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is seeking a full-time Utility Worker. Utility Workers can expect to work approximately 40 hrs/week, Monday through Friday. Typical work hours will be 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Job Responsibilities Utility Workers are responsible for cleaning and maintaining areas inside and outside of Lincoln Park facilities while complying with all relevant health and safety regulations. This position requires outdoor grounds maintenance including landscaping and snow shoveling along with indoor custodial responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

Performing cleaning duties within the facilities; Performing basic maintenance within the facilities such as replacing light fittings (including repairing or replacing fixtures and bulbs), entry level plumbing and electrical maintenance, painting, moving of furniture, etc. Following verbal and written instructions from company supervisors; Performing basic landscaping duties such as mowing grass, tree trimming, weeding, and watering of plants; Snow and ice removal, using the proper equipment and tools and appropriate chemicals; Ensuring the safe handling and storage of chemicals used; Maintaining company tools and equipment; Reporting to supervisor any needs or deficiencies that would prevent the timely completion of an assigned task. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read and interpret written work orders; Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods; Understanding of cleaning equipment and techniques; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly without assistance while practicing safe lifting techniques; Ability to climb ladders

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Utility Worker; Working knowledge of mechanical landscaping equipment; Experience working with hazardous cleaning chemicals; Basic mechanical, plumbing and electrical knowledge; Working knowledge of material handling equipment, including pallet jack, scissor lift, fork truck, etc.; Conducting basic repairs on landscaping and maintenance equipment.
