About Us Living Treasures Wild Animal Park is a family-friendly zoological facility committed to exceptional animal care, guest experience, and safe, well-maintained grounds. Our maintenance team plays a vital role in keeping the park running smoothly and creating a safe environment for guests, staff, and animals. Position Summary The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for daily upkeep, repairs, and overall functionality of the park's buildings, exhibits (no direct animal work), public areas, and operational equipment. This role includes both routine tasks and special projects to ensure the park looks its best and operates efficiently throughout the season. Key Responsibilities Perform daily inspections of park grounds, walkways, fences, gates, and public areas to identify and address maintenance needs. Complete general repairs including carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and basic mechanical work. Assist with seasonal projects such as landscaping, mulching, snow removal, and exhibit/structure improvements. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of guest areas, restrooms, pavilions, picnic spaces, and playgrounds. Monitor and perform upkeep on small machinery and tools (golf carts, mowers, weed whackers, etc.). Support setup and teardown for special events and seasonal attractions. Work safely around animal areas alongside keepers—no animal handling required. Communicate clearly with management about ongoing projects, supply needs, or safety concerns. Respond to urgent maintenance requests as needed to support park operations. Qualifications Previous maintenance, construction, or groundskeeping experience preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and small equipment. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Comfortable walking long distances and performing physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Must be available on weekends and some holidays during the operating season. Schedule & Work Environment Full Time or Part Time positions available Fast-paced outdoor environment with varied daily tasks. Must be comfortable working near a variety of animals.
