Job Announcement Property Maintenance Technician Keystone Opportunity Center is a nonprofit organization located in Souderton, Pennsylvania, whose mission is to educate, encourage, and empower community members in need to become self-sufficient. To accomplish this mission, Keystone provides the community with a food pantry for people experiencing food insecurity, affordable housing options for people experiencing housing instability, and educational opportunities that support community members to increase their employability. The full time Facilities & Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting Keystone Opportunity Center's mission to house, feed, and educate community members. Split between the main administrative/program office building and Keystone's portfolio of 18 affordable housing residential units, this hybrid role ensures safe, functional, and well-maintained environments for both staff and residents Key Responsibilities 1. Residential Affordable Housing Maintenance Perform unit turnover preparation (make-ready repairs, drywall patching, painting, lock changes, deep cleaning coordination). Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing (faucets, drains, toilets), electrical (fixtures, outlets, switches), and appliance issues within residential units. Respond promptly to resident maintenance work orders while upholding privacy, dignity, and trauma-informed community principles. Conduct quarterly health and safety inspections for all residential housing properties. 2. Main Office & Administrative Facilities Support Maintain daily physical operations of the main facility, ensuring common areas, office spaces, and program service zones remain safe and operable. Perform routine preventive maintenance on office HVAC systems, lighting, security doors, and plumbing fixtures. Assist with physical setups for community events, board meetings, food pantry operations, and staff office relocations. Coordinate trash removal, recycling, and outdoor groundskeeping oversight (snow removal, pathway safety). 3. Safety & Emergency Operations Share on-call responsibilities for urgent facilities issues (e.g., active water leaks, heating loss, security breaches). Ensure compliance with local building codes, HUD/housing authority standards, and OSHA workplace safety regulations. Maintain fire safety equipment, emergency exit signage, and alarm system checks across all sites. Qualifications & Requirements Experience 3+ years in general facilities maintenance, residential property maintenance, or commercial trades. Technical Skills Proficient in general carpentry, basic plumbing, minor electrical repair, drywall repair, and painting. Driver's License Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required for transit between properties (mileage reimbursed). Interpersonal Strong communication skills with a trauma-informed, respectful approach when working in resident homes. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions.
