Our Facilities Staff enables the day to day operations of our building, ensuring that meetings and events are set up appropriately, managing the technical requirements of programs, and ensuring that the building and grounds are clean. The facilities staff interacts regularly with our members and visitors and needs to be customer centric with a can do attitude. The position requires excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, attention to detail, good time management skills, computer know-how and initiative. The facilities team reports directly to the Facilities Director and works closely with the Executive Director.
Hours Hiring For:
Approximately 20 hours a week with potential for additional hours based on activity during peak times of the year. Activity or programming is defined as afternoons / evenings and weekends.Facilities Set Up:
- Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in auditoriums, meeting rooms and classrooms; prepares rooms for use by students, congregants and staff
- Clears snow from entrances and walkways
- Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to rooms
- Opens and closes synagogue building according to security procedures General Maintenance Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
General Cleaning:
- Cleans and disinfects classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, stairways, administrative offices, meeting rooms, sanctuary and auditoriums
- Uses brooms, mops and floor equipment to sweep and mop floors.
- Vacuums rugs and carpets
- Dusts furniture and equipment
- Empties wastebaskets
- Replenishes bathroom and classroom supplies
- Provides assistance to staff and guests
- Operate machines to wax floors and clean carpets.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the grounds outside of building Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, reach high up, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED and one (1) year building maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
