Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, organized and collaborative Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, rental housing, Vadis-owned office buildings, and grounds. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This is not a remote or work from home position.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working environment at all times. Ensure necessary maintenance materials are maintained and stocked. Maintain Vadis' standard of excellence in completion of tasks. Maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, purchase orders and other records with accuracy. Operate job-related equipment in a safe manner and as directed (forklift, company vehicles, job-related tools, etc.) Interact and coordinate with residential support, families, and/or guardians, location/site coordinators or supervisors positively and professionally. Perform specific tasks as directed by supervisor such as inventory control, safety, grounds maintenance, and maintenance requests. Develop, plan and organize projects specific to the maintenance position to include resource analysis and project costing. Complete duties such as painting, minor building/household repairs, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, troubleshooting all work orders, building/assembly of office or housing furnishings. Perform landscape duties. Perform regular maintenance of all equipment and tools related to the maintenance duties. Meet regularly with supervisor to prioritize workload. Assist Facilities Manager with coordination of sub-contractor work. Maintain orderly records and schedules for the upkeep of Vadis equipment and Vehicles. Possibly evening/weekend work in emergency repair situations. Other related duties as assigned.
Pay and Benefits:
This is a full-time position Full salary range for this position is $27.00 - $31.25 per hour Medical insurance, (dependent coverage available at employee cost) Employee dental, vision, and life insurance fully paid by Vadis (dependent coverage and supplemental life insurance available at employee cost) Employee assistance program 403(b) retirement plan with up to a 6% company match after one year of employment dependent on contributions Vacation accrual begins at up to 10 days per year (.0385 per paid hour) Sick Leave accrues at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked Ten Paid Holidays (8 fixed, 2 floating) Holiday bonus Business mileage reimbursement is currently .66/mile Career advancement and professional development opportunities Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Willingness and ability to work with people of disability in a time sensitive work environment Ability to work independently; decision making skills Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor Flexible in dealing with many personality types, strong teamwork skills, and last-minute schedule changes Must have good written and verbal communication skills Must have a good working knowledge of most hand tools and woodshop equipment, plumbing and electrical operations and repairs Must pass criminal background check Must be able to read, write and speak English Must have a current, valid Washington State drivers license.
