Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, proactive, and skilled Maintenance Technician to support operations at an active construction site . This is a hands-on position requiring an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where daily assignments and priorities may change based on site needs. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and facility-related issues, complete minor repairs, and assist with general construction and site-support activities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, resourceful, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. This is not a single-trade position. Candidates should be comfortable performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and general site-support duties throughout their shift. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on facility equipment, mechanical systems, tools, and other site equipment. Troubleshoot and complete minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility-related repairs within the employee's qualifications and training. Perform general maintenance including minor carpentry, drywall repair, painting, hardware replacement, fixture installation, and similar repairs. Assemble, install, relocate, maintain, and repair equipment, furniture, shelving, fixtures, and other site materials. Diagnose equipment or facility problems and determine when specialized or licensed contractors are required. Complete assigned maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner. Assist with construction-related activities, site setup, material movement, equipment relocation, and general labor as needed. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, carts, and other maintenance equipment. Inspect work areas and identify potential maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and materials used. Maintain clean and organized maintenance and work areas. Follow all company, client, OSHA, and construction-site safety requirements. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, and other required equipment. Communicate professionally with supervisors, employees, contractors, and client representatives. Perform additional maintenance and site-support duties as assigned based on operational needs. Requirements Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, Building Maintenance Technician, or similar position preferred. General knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate repair solutions. Experience safely using hand and power tools. Construction, industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, or large-facility experience is strongly preferred. Ability to read basic technical instructions, equipment manuals, work orders, and safety documentation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license may be required for operation of company vehicles. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing priorities. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, push, and pull as required. Ability to safely lift and move materials and equipment commonly associated with maintenance and construction-site work. Comfortable working around construction activity, equipment, vehicles, noise, dust, and changing environmental conditions. Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required. Must follow designated pedestrian routes, traffic signs, site speed limits, and all other site safety requirements. Important Position Expectations This position is located on an active construction site . The work can be physically demanding, and Maintenance Technicians may be asked to perform a wide variety of tasks throughout their shift. Duties are not limited to traditional maintenance work and may include general labor and other site-support responsibilities. Candidates should be flexible, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and willing to assist wherever reasonably needed to support site operations.
