Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with strong expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to join our dynamic manufacturing environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex electrical and mechanical printing and finishing equipment across our facility. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about ensuring optimal equipment performance. Technical proficiency will directly contribute to maintaining seamless operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position is for 1st shift, 7a -3p with occassional overtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems, install and perform unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance on presses and equipment based on customer demand or need.
- Analysis of problems or situations pertaining to breakdowns of customer equipment and recommends actions necessary to correct situation.
- Performs necessary repairs to correct situations in a professional and productive manner.
- Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment according to company's Scheduled Maintenance policy and procedure.
- Maintains parts and supplies inventory and other duties as assigned.
- Report shift metrics to capture the performance and/or areas for improvement. (Breakdown - Downtime) (Parts Availability)
- Generate necessary requisitions for review and ordering by MRO buyer.
- Communications with Maintenance Supervisor on additional time requirements not captured in schedule.
- Seek out additional training opportunity for self-development.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe shop and production floor.
- Perform all repairs following the procedures for Lockout - Tagout.
- Properly inspect and maintain shop equipment, in accordance with OSHA regulation.
- Identify, label, and stage parts for the equipment.
- Follow proper procedures around safety, chemical handling, and handling of hazardous waste.
Experience Proven experience working within a manufacturing facility environment with a focus on industrial maintenance or similar settings. Printing industry experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair is essential; familiarity with various PLC brands is preferred. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics including reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and performing electrical repairs. Experience on the use and purpose of test equipment including, but not limited to, digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes. Experience with high-voltage 3-phase
QUALIFICATIONS
3 - 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment High school diploma or GED; successfully pass qualifying scores or skill assessment Associate Degree in industrial Electronics Technology or a related field strongly preferred. Technically trained person who can build, program, integrate, service, maintain and operate programmable logic controllers. AC/DC Drive programming and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge in the areas of:
principles of electricity, including circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments and meters associated with electric generation. Will be required to stand, climb or balance stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must be able to lift and or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and or move more than 100 pounds. Interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, drawings and technical publications. Basic ACAD skills. Operation and repair of electrical power production systems. Ability to communicate needs clearly with supervisors and others (written and verbal). Good organizational skills, 5S. Attention to details and timeliness when preparing documentation.
- Ability to work in a "Team" environment and support a 24 hour operation.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
