Job Description

Under general supervision, maintains and performs preventative maintenance on airport systems. Assist in all aspects of airport maintenance. Reports to airport maintenance supervisor. Must become proficient in all aspects of job within 6 months of hire date. The position may be required to work at any county airport, when needed. Weekends, Holidays and shift changes may be required as dictated by Operational needs. Performs a variety of airport buildings HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and General Trades work. Utilizes a variety of repair tools and equipment. Must be able to communicate on 800 MHz radio. Will work in all weather conditions or airport emergencies as needed. Airport security and AOA driver training mandatory. OSHA safety training mandatory. FAA and TSA security rules and regulations training mandatory. Required to have flexible availability for airport emergency staffing purposes, and must provide detailed ongoing information to supervisor as to availability during times that he/she is not regularly scheduled. This position may require working at night/weekend. Understands and complies with Horry County and Department policies regarding absences and use of paid leave time and other policies. Performs other related duties as required/ assigned. Ability to perform manual labor and lift at least 50 pounds. Previous Airport experience a plus. Knowledge of
OSHA, FAA, TSA
rules and regulations. Hourly rate will be determined by the qualifications of the applicant; the level applicant exceeds minimum qualifications and by current airport needs. Applicant must provide documentation and/or be able to demonstrate their ability to exceed the minimum expectations of the position, if necessary. Actual job description will be matched to airport needs and qualifications of the applicant. Candidate must pass a background check without indication of possible aviation security risk as required by the transportation security administration, valid SC motor vehicle operator's license, and meet pre-employment drug screening requirements.
