A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our overnight maintenance team. This hands-on role is responsible for keeping manufacturing equipment and facility systems running safely and efficiently through troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts. This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical and electrical issues while supporting the development of other team members. Although this is not a supervisory role, the Maintenance Technician II serves as the primary technical resource for Maintenance Technician I employees on 3rd shift. Candidates should have previous experience in a Team Lead, Lead Technician, Supervisor, or similar leadership-support position. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills along with experience working on automated manufacturing equipment, PLC-controlled systems, motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday, 11:15 PM to 7:15 AM Responsibilities Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing, packaging, and facility equipment. Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance. Respond quickly to equipment failures to minimize downtime and production interruptions. Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement effective solutions. Support equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvement projects. Complete equipment setups, changeovers, and operational adjustments as needed. Electrical & Controls Troubleshooting Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V. Diagnose and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems. Support automated equipment and controls, including: PLCs HMIs Servo drives Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Sensors, photo eyes, and proximity switches Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Mechanical & Facility Support Repair and maintain pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and other production equipment. Assist with facility maintenance involving HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and material handling equipment. Team Support & Communication Serve as the primary technical resource for Maintenance Technician I team members during 3rd shift. Assist with training, coaching, and troubleshooting support for less experienced technicians. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve equipment issues and improve performance. Foster a strong safety mindset and collaborative team environment. Compliance & Documentation Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements. Maintain compliance with GMP and company operating standards. Accurately document maintenance activities and work orders in the CMMS system. Participate in inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Required Qualifications U.S. Citizen. Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Previous experience as a Team Lead, Lead Technician, Supervisor, or similar leadership-support role. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals. Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance. Technical school, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, or other GMP-regulated manufacturing environments. Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens controls. Knowledge of HVAC systems, welding, and industrial automation. Experience supporting high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment.
