This role is responsible for overseeing all engineering functions, maintaining critical systems, and delivering a safe, comfortable, and exceptional experience for our guests. Availability Requirements Open availability and flexibility are required On-call as needed based on hotel operational demands Position Summary The Chief Engineer plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the overall success of the hotel by maintaining all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. This position leads the maintenance team, ensures compliance with safety standards, and proactively addresses facility needs to exceed guest expectations. Key Responsibilities Oversee and inspect all hotel systems and components to ensure proper, efficient, and safe operation Lead and respond to maintenance requests from housekeeping and front desk teams, ensuring timely resolution and guest satisfaction Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and all building systems Supervise maintenance staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement Maintain hotel grounds, including landscaping and parking areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet brand and quality standards Perform and oversee repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and emergency maintenance tasks Maintain organized, safe, and secure storage, shop, and mechanical areas Communicate effectively with hotel leadership regarding maintenance issues, projects, and improvements Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate ordering with management Minimize guest disruption while performing maintenance duties
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Proven experience in hotel maintenance or hotel engineering Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), reading schematics, and troubleshooting electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly convey technical information Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills As Chief Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and maintaining a safe, high-performing environment. Your leadership and expertise will directly impact guest satisfaction and the overall success of the property.
