Position Summary The Construction and Maintenance Technician builds, maintains, and repairs the facilities and equipment that support Alpha Genesis's animal-care and research operations. The role performs diversified farm, residential, and basic commercial construction and maintenance work. What You Will Do Review, prioritize, complete, document, and close assigned work orders. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, corrals, cages, fencing, gates, latches, pumps, pressure washers, locks, lighting, filters, exhaust fans, carts, bicycles, and related systems. Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and material-handling equipment safely. Support construction and completion of animal areas, perches, towers, feed bins, doors, enrichment structures, and facility improvements. Maintain organized, debris-free construction, maintenance, and storage areas. Follow SOPs, safety procedures, applicable building codes, and occupational-hazard controls. Coordinate with other departments, resolve practical problems, and manage multiple assigned projects and deadlines. What We Are Looking For High school diploma or GED. At least five years of related construction or maintenance experience. Knowledge of construction and maintenance methods, tools, materials, safety practices, and applicable codes. Ability to read work orders, safety rules, manuals, and written instructions. Valid South Carolina driver's license or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Farm, residential, and basic commercial construction experience. Project-lead, supervisory, or facilities-management experience.
