Residential Maintenance Mechanic/Technician Positions Needed. The Maryville Housing Authority seeks motivated, trade accomplished individuals for Maintenance Mechanic positions for home repair and service work. A minimum of 3 years' experience is preferred. Trade requirements shall include basic electrical and plumbing theory and repair, Remodeling and repairing light commercial and residential apartments. HVAC service and repair are a strong plus. The position would require paid on-call service schedule. Maryville Housing Authority offers a 4/10-day work schedule. Successful Applicants are required to submit a pre-employment drug and background screening. Job Functions include but are not limited to the following. Repairs buildings, facilities, and equipment; troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment; plans and implements preventative maintenance program. Inspects vacant units, identifies maintenance and repair needs and repairs same; Maintains key and locks, responds to alarms and operates alarm panel; unstops sewer lines and repairs plumbing fixtures and lines; replaces water closets and sinks; replaces light fixtures, plugs, breakers, bulbs, repairs windows, doors, replaces broken glass. Repairs kitchen appliances, range hoods, furnaces; services air conditioning units; replaces flooring, doors, etc.

Required Skills:

Valid Driver's License Preferred at least 3yrs experience in HVAC, small appliances, and electricity Must be able to work legally in the United States Must pass drug screening

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass post-offer physical limitations screening and drug and alcohol screening . This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds or force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; and some heavy work requiring the exertions of 100 pounds of force occasionally, Work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling lifting, and grasping; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for the operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, and oils. The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
