00 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. What You'll Do The Night Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining plant equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations during off-shift hours. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency breakdown response while maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting food safety, employee safety, and production goals. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process equipment. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled PM tasks. Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime. Create and complete work orders in SAP and accurately document labor hours and parts usage. Perform root cause troubleshooting and implement corrective actions. Support production operations during night shift as needed. Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and lockout/tagout procedures. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation. Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects. Communicate equipment issues and shift handoff information to management and day shift personnel. What You'll Need To Succeed Technical Skills Mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Basic electrical troubleshooting, including motors, starters, sensors, and VFDs. Hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge. Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Knowledge of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and process equipment. Basic computer skills and maintenance software experience. SAP maintenance experience preferred. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication and documentation skills. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Team-oriented mindset. Strong safety awareness. Experience Requirements Preferred Three or more years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience troubleshooting production equipment. Experience working night shift or off-shift operations. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and
CMMS/SAP
systems. Education and Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license, if required by site. Preferred Technical school diploma or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Industrial Maintenance certification. Electrical certification. PLC troubleshooting experience. Forklift, boom lift, or scissor lift certification. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy manufacturing environments. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins when required. Night Shift Expectations Work independently with limited supervision. Respond to urgent production issues and breakdowns. Ensure all maintenance activities are documented before the end of shift. Complete PMs and work orders on schedule.
