Role Overview:
We are seeking a versatile, proactive Equipment Technician / Facilities Specialist to keep our manufacturing facility running efficiently. This dynamic role combines light mechanical maintenance, material handling, shipping/receiving, and facility upkeep. While servicing and maintaining industrial sewing machines is an essential duty, it accounts for roughly 8 hours of work per week. The remainder of your time will be spent supporting all aspects of daily shop operations including, but not limited to: moving materials, managing incoming/outgoing inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Primary Responsibilities 1. General Facilities & Material Support
- Move raw materials and parts efficiently across the shop floor to maintain fast-paced production flow.
- Manage daily facility upkeep: routine cleanup, waste and scrap disposal, debris management, and basic building maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized workshop (keeping tools sorted, cleaning up oil/felt dust).
- Perform day end walkthroughs to ensure all machinery, fans, air compressors, and electrical appliances are safely turned off. 2. Shipping, Receiving & Material Handling
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to load and unload deliveries.
- Verify delivery documentation against shipments and handle clerical aspects of shipping and receiving.
- Monitor propane gas levels, safely store tanks, and follow all safety protocols for material handling equipment. 3. Equipment Maintenance & Technical Support (Approx. 8 hrs/week)
- Inspect, clean, service, and repair industrial sewing machines tools as needed to minimize line downtime.
- Operate and monitor basic support systems (air compressor, tool organization, maintenance part inventory).
- Ability to understand and solve problems using schematics and blueprints. 4. Inventory & Documentation
- Develop a working knowledge of part numbers, storage locations, and daily consumable inventory needs.
- Report unusual inventory usage or shortages to the supervisor.
- Assist with writing work instructions for manufacturing, inventory management, and quality control processes. Core Competencies & Qualifications

Pay:
From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 - 44.0 per week
