Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Make Ready Technician to join our maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing residential units for new tenants by performing a variety of repair, maintenance, and cosmetic tasks. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that each unit meets our high standards of quality and readiness. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and facilities maintenance, contributing directly to tenant satisfaction and property excellence. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of units to identify repair needs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Perform electrical work including troubleshooting, repairing electrical equipment, and interpreting schematics. Carry out plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring proper operation of plumbing systems. Execute HVAC system repairs and routine maintenance to maintain optimal climate control within units. Use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and ohmmeters to diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently. Complete carpentry tasks such as drywall patching, painting (including residential painting), and installing fixtures or cabinetry. Maintain facilities equipment including elevators, fire safety systems, and other building interior systems. Apply welding skills when necessary for structural repairs or modifications. Perform maintenance painting to improve the aesthetic appeal of units and common areas. Adhere to safety protocols while working with electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and other building infrastructure. Document work performed accurately in maintenance logs and communicate effectively with team members and tenants as needed. Experience Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) within residential or commercial properties. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, schematics, ohmmeters, and electrical testing devices. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical work, building interior maintenance, and facilities equipment maintenance. Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively. Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and schematic reading is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English. Leadership qualities are a plus for mentoring team members or overseeing projects.
