Title:
Facilities Maintenance Worker (Mechanically Inclined) Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, proactive Facilities Maintenance Worker to handle the daily upkeep, minor repairs, and general preventative maintenance of our property. The ideal candidate must be mechanically inclined with a natural ability to troubleshoot issues, understand how machinery works, and safely use a variety of hand and power tools. You will ensure our buildings, grounds, and equipment remain safe, functional, and in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Troubleshooting:
Diagnose basic mechanical breakdowns on property equipment, appliances, and facility systems before calling external contractors.
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine checks such as replacing HVAC filters, changing light bulbs, checking safety alarms, and lubricating moving parts.
Minor Plumbing & Electrical:
Fix leaking faucets, clear clogged drains, repair toilets, and replace broken light switches or outlets.
General Carpentry & Repairs:
Repair broken door locks, hinges, window blinds, and patch/paint minor drywall damage.
Grounds & Facility Care:
Maintain property cleanliness, assist with basic yard upkeep or trash removal, and monitor overall facility safety.
Tool & Inventory Tracking:
Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical equipment while keeping supplies organized.
Job Requirements & Qualifications Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong natural ability to work with your hands, figure out mechanical issues, and read basic manuals or schematics.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general property maintenance, construction, or a hands-on mechanical trade is preferred.
Tool Literacy:
High proficiency using common hand tools, drills, saws, and basic plumbing/electrical tools.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
Problem-Solving Skills:
A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and figure out practical solutions to physical property issues.
Reliability:
Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
