We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to help us uphold our high standards of excellence. Job Summary The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall physical upkeep of the hotel property. This role performs routine and preventative maintenance, responds to guest requests, and addresses emergency repairs promptly. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver with a wide range of technical skills and a commitment to quality and safety. Key Responsibilities 1.
Preventative & Routine Maintenance:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, water heaters, and pumps. Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, identifying and resolving issues. Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities. 2.
Guest Room & Public Area Repairs:
Promptly respond to and resolve guest-reported maintenance issues in their rooms, such as malfunctioning appliances, plumbing clogs, electrical problems, and TV/remote issues. Maintain and repair fixtures, furniture, and equipment throughout the hotel (e.g., door locks, windows, curtains, lighting). Perform touch-up painting, minor drywall repair, and carpet cleaning/repair. 3.
Grounds & Facility Upkeep:
Maintain the exterior of the property, including landscaping, parking lots, and building exteriors. Ensure the swimming pool is operational, clean, and chemically balanced (if applicable). Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and salting of walkways. 4.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all hotel safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Ensure the property complies with all local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Test and maintain life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency generators. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. 5.
Guest Service:
Interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner when responding to maintenance requests. Demonstrate a "guest-first" attitude by resolving issues efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel, apartment complex, or related facility. Basic knowledge in three or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call for emergencies as required. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, and bend for extended periods. Must have the visual acuity to inspect and identify equipment and building deficiencies.
