Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Duct Installer to join our dynamic HVAC team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining ductwork systems that ensure optimal airflow and indoor air quality across various commercial and residential buildings. Duties Install new duct systems according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans, ensuring precise fit and function. Repair and replace existing ductwork, including sealing leaks and insulating ducts for maximum efficiency. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and building automation systems to guide installation and troubleshooting processes. Assist with HVAC system installation, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation components. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems, troubleshoot equipment issues using hand tools and diagnostic devices such as ohmmeters. Diagnose electrical problems related to HVAC/R systems through electrical diagnostics and perform necessary repairs or adjustments. Maintain a clean work environment, adhere to safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants, and ensure all work complies with local building codes. Skills Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation and repair. Service technician experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems such as refrigeration units, boilers, or air conditioning systems. Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems. Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC/R equipment repair, maintenance, and installation procedures. Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read HVAC design plans accurately and follow detailed schematics for complex installations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or ammonia refrigeration are a plus.
