Job Description

The Sr. Maintenance Technician is a hands-on technical leader responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of all production equipment associated with a Hot Dip Galvanizing Facility. This role serves as a technical expert supporting electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, boilers and overall building operations. This position also plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while supporting continuous improvement, mentoring less experienced technicians and supporting leadership in the maintenance department.
Duties Include:
Advanced Diagnostics:
Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical plant equipment, consisting of overhead cranes/hoists, motors, gearboxes, forklifts, pumps and air compressors.
Welding:
Fabricate/repair fixtures, baskets and racks used in the handling and conveyance of product through the galvanizing process. Loading / unloading and operating an MZR (Zinc recovery) machine. Maintaining filter press process, which includes cleaning the filter screens when required and understanding/operating the controls. Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, Skid Steers & telehandlers as needed. Provide supervision and leadership to other maintenance technician's and act as Assistant Supervisor as needed.
Qualifications:
Welding knowledge - Certificate not required but should have 2-5 years of welding experience. Good mechanical aptitude Excellent electrical troubleshooting skills (on O/H hoists is a plus) Be self-motivated and able to work on your own. Ability to operate arial lifts and work at heights of approx. 25.' 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance related experience High regard for personal and operator safety Competitive Benefits & Programs Excellence is a non-negotiable aspect of our culture.
