Job Description
House Guild is a growing home repair, maintenance, and improvement company focused on quality craftsmanship, professional service, and creating customers who call us again whenever something in their home needs attention. We are looking for an experienced, multi-skilled handyman and remodeling professional with excellent carpentry skills who is comfortable completing a wide variety of residential repairs, home-improvement projects, and remodeling work. This position will begin as a 1099 independent subcontractor, with the opportunity for the right individual to transition into a W-2 Lead Technician position as House Guild grows and develops consistent project volume. Your Responsibilities Complete Residential Repairs & Remodeling
- Perform residential repairs, installations, maintenance, and remodeling projects ranging from individual service calls to multi-day bathroom and kitchen renovations. Perform High-Quality Carpentry
- Complete rough and finish carpentry projects such as doors, trim, molding, shelving, cabinetry repairs, wood repairs, and similar residential work. Work Across Multiple Trades
- Complete projects involving drywall, tile, flooring, painting, fixture installation, minor plumbing, minor electrical, and general residential repairs within applicable licensing requirements. Assess & Troubleshoot Projects
- Evaluate customer needs, diagnose problems, and identify the appropriate repair or improvement solution. Scope & Estimate Projects
- Assess project needs, determine materials and labor requirements, and provide accurate information for customer estimates. Communicate With Homeowners
- Clearly explain repairs, project details, and technical information in a way customers can easily understand. Protect the Customer's Home
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, protect flooring and surrounding surfaces, and clean thoroughly when the project is complete. Maintain a Polished and Professional Appearance
- Wear House Guild uniform while maintaining a professional demeanor in every customer interaction. Work Independently
- Troubleshoot and complete accepted projects. Know Your Limits
- Recognize when work requires a licensed or specialty contractor and communicate that appropriately.
