In this role, you will perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of our plastic processing machinery. Your core focus will be maximizing the uptime and efficiency of our production machinery, alongside all auxiliary and support equipment associated. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for staff and customers alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced setting, contributing directly to the smooth functioning of our operations. Responsibilities Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose mechanical malfunctions across all machinery (e.g., clamp assemblies, injection units), extrusion systems (e.g., screws, barrels, die heads), Thermoforming (vacuum form molding) and assembly production(e.g. saws, plastic welders, and drill presses). Maintenance & Operations Execute preventative maintenance (PM) schedules faithfully to minimize unplanned production downtime. Support line changes e.g. extrusion screw swaps, ensuring proper water line hookups, knockout bar configurations, and mechanical alignments. Document all work orders and parts usage within our computerized maintenance management system. Safety & Compliance Follow strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures during all maintenance tasks. Maintain OSHA compliance across the facility, keeping a clean, organized, and hazard-free shop area. Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems , including 480V 3-phase power, AC/DC motors, servo drives, and control panels. Repair hydraulic and pneumatic components , such as pumps, directional valves, manifolds, cylinders, and proportional valves. Optimize auxiliary equipment , maintaining mold temperature controllers (thermolators), chillers, desiccant material dryers, resin loaders, grinders, and warehouse equipment such as wrappers, pickers, and forklifts.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. A technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Fewer years of experience with certifications or specialized training may be considered.
Specialized Expertise:
Direct, hands-on maintenance experience with plastic injection molding machines and profile extrusion equipment . ( Preferred)
Technical Skills Blueprints:
Proficient at reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and electrical ladder logic diagrams.
Controls:
Basic understanding of PLC navigation for troubleshooting purposes.
Tools:
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, including digital multimeters, hydraulic pressure gauges, and standard hand/power tools.
Physical Demands Lifting:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. independently.
Stamina:
Capability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, and climb ladders throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled plant environment.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Fewer years of experience with certifications or specialized training may be considered.
