Shop & Facilities Maintenance Associate True North Marine | Clear Lake Shores / Kemah, TX Are you a hands-on person who likes keeping things organized, working properly, and ready to use? Do you notice what needs attention and take pride in getting it done? True North Marine is looking for a dependable, resourceful team member to help maintain our shop, equipment, inventory, vehicles, and facilities. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys practical work, takes initiative, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed. This position involves much more than cleaning. You'll help create an organized, well-maintained work environment so our technicians and other team members have what they need to do their jobs. What You'll Do Maintain shop equipment and tools. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs within your abilities. Keep maintenance records, identify problems, and communicate when equipment needs professional service or replacement. Keep the shop organized and clean. Maintain work areas, storage spaces, and common areas; return tools and materials to their proper locations; remove trash and clutter; and address day-to-day housekeeping needs. A professional cleaning service handles weekly vacuuming and mopping, but this role is responsible for keeping the shop orderly between visits. Support inventory and restocking. Restock shop supplies and consumables, organize and label shelves and bins, assist with inventory counts, and notify the appropriate team members when supplies are running low. Help maintain the facility and fleet. Handle basic facility upkeep and minor repairs, report maintenance concerns, and wash and clean company vehicles. Help keep indoor and outdoor work areas presentable and ready for use. Organize and sell used parts and equipment. Sort and track used items, take photos, and create accurate listings on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and similar platforms. Coordinate pricing and disposition with management and assist with buyer communication, packing, shipping, and pickups. Provide flexible, hands-on support. Assist with deliveries, moving materials, setting up workspaces, special projects, and other shop or facility needs as priorities change. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Dependable and self-motivated: Shows up consistently, follows through, and notices what needs to be done without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
Organized and practical:
Keeps track of tools, supplies, maintenance needs, and unfinished tasks—and takes pride in leaving an area better than they found it.
Mechanically inclined and safety-conscious:
Comfortable using common hand and power tools, performing basic maintenance, and recognizing when a task requires additional expertise.
Flexible and team-oriented:
Willing to move between maintenance, cleaning, inventory, and other support tasks with a positive attitude.
Comfortable with basic technology:
Able to take clear photos, create online listings, respond professionally to messages, and maintain simple inventory and maintenance records. Experience in shop support, equipment maintenance, facilities, a warehouse, or a similar hands-on environment is helpful. Marine-industry experience is a plus, but it is not required. This is an active position involving both indoor and outdoor work, standing, bending, and moving tools, supplies, and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
