Facilities Maintenance Specialist Performs a wide range of maintenance insuring an efficient and safe working environment The employee will have the responsibility of:
- Performing a full range of indoor/outdoor semi-skilled, skilled maintenance including repairs such as painting, floor coverings, plumbing, roofing, electrical, carpentry, applying varnish, mechanical, and ceiling tiles
- Assisting in the maintenance on city's heating and air conditioning services
- Building and installing cabinets and shelves
- Assisting in drafting plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Contracting maintenance and remodeling jobs as needed
- Performing quarterly facilities inspections in city facilities
- Conducting analysis to determine cost effective means of maintenance and repairs
- Dealing directly with plumping, HVAC, and general maintenance contractors
- Assisting in implementing new facility maintenance responsibilities The work environment will require the employee to:
- Be physically capable of moving on construction sites
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally works in high precarious places
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock

- Graduation from high school or equivalent; and
- Two (2) years' experience in the construction trade or facilities maintenance
Special Requirements:
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license within ninety (90) days of hire
- Must have a valid driver's license by date-of-hire
