Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintaining of mechanical equipment within the facility that aid in the manufacturing of all company products in a safe and sanitary work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all industrial equipment in plant including: conveyors hydraulics pneumatics welding gearboxes/drives valves/pumps Works safely and follows all SOP's on lock out of equipment. Maintains documentation of work order forms and completion of daily PM's. Supports general plant safety, food safety, food defense initiatives, good manufacturing practices, SQF and internal audits and product quality always. Participates in root cause problem solving & troubleshooting issues. Performs preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance. Capable of overhauling most process systems and equipment to ensure optimal equipment up-time. Works cross-functionally with production and sanitation associates to provide effective maintenance support and to protect food safety and quality. Identifies potential cost savings and cost avoidance measures. Understands levels of line downtime caused by equipment issues. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to supervise and train team members Must be able to work varying days (including occasional weekends) and shifts in order to meet deadlines.

COMPETENCIES

Good communication skills; be able to communicate to floor personnel and senior management. Bilingual preferred; or ability to work with diverse group of personnel Proficient in computer programs but not limited to Word and Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience.
