Job Description

S terling Custom Sheet Metal is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This role requires a motivated person who takes pride in their work and stays on task. Starting pay is $23 with a range dependent on level of experience and ability.
Maintenance Technician Major Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
Carefully read and interpret equipment manuals to understand how to operate and maintain equipment properly. Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival, check every part to be sure that they are working and meet industry standards before they are used on the production line. Strictly abide by safety regulations during daily activities, such as lock out tag out, Ariel work, and machine guarding to keep equipment in check and avoid mechanical hazards that could cause harm to operators and workers. Teach workers how to operate equipment to avoid damage and accidents. Plan repairs and equipment moves to prevent loss of production. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions that could halt production. Troubleshoot equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issues and repair them accordingly. Communicate with the management team to inform them about equipment issues and plan/perform maintenance work for maximum efficiency. Maintenance Technician Requirements -
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Knowledge of mechanical maintenance. Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning equipment. Possess the discipline to execute tasks without procrastination. Proficient time management skills to work at a good pace, executing tasks. Ability to handle basic hand tools safely. General knowledge of industry safety standards. Effective interpersonal skills to relate cordially with team members and coworkers. Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components and the ability to troubleshoot and repair them is a must. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical components on metal working equipment. Practice good housekeeping in all work areas to prevent issues.
