Job Summary The Maintenance Technician at TransTech Fabrication is a hands-on member of the maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, and responsible for supporting the performance, safety, and reliability of shop equipment and facilities. This role focuses on executing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with routine inspections and repairs. The technician works closely with the Maintenance Manager and Operations team to address maintenance needs, coordinate repairs, and maintain equipment records. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team-based environment with direction and priorities established by the Maintenance Manager. Tasks & Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on shop equipment, both large and small, under direction of the Maintenance Manager Assist in scheduling and completing preventative maintenance activities for all equipment Support required OSHA inspections, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up actions Maintain accurate equipment files and maintenance records Conduct daily inspections of forklifts, trucks, and overhead cranes Perform routine inspections of electrical tools, cords, and lighting systems Complete monthly inspections as required (e.g., fire extinguishers) Perform routine building maintenance and basic repairs Assist with environmental sampling and reporting processes Support management of facility security systems, including gates and access codes Work with and support third-party contractors performing maintenance and repairs Communicate maintenance issues and improvement opportunities to the Maintenance Manager Competencies Experience maintaining and repairing shop equipment, including welding equipment Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems Familiarity with preventative maintenance (PM) programs or software preferred Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a maintenance team Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with operations and production personnel Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) Knowledge of safety standards such as Lockout/Tagout and OSHA requirements Dependable and responsive, with a strong focus on completing assigned maintenance tasks Education/Experience 2-5 years of equipment maintenance experience preferred Benefits Designed to Work for
