Job Description

Responsible for general maintenance and performing daily cleaning of offices and patient areas including cleaning walls, lights, windows, vents, floors, carpets.
II. CUSTODIAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Meets or calls supervisor to discuss special needs, problems, or assignments. 2. Assembles cleaning supplies and equipment and cleans floors, rooms and offices following established schedules and methods. Replaces disposables. 3. Shampoos, and vacuums carpets for cleaning and bacteria control, removes spots from carpets. 4. Assists in cleaning emergency spills as observed or requested. Sanitizes and sterilizes clinic areas. 5. Clean ceilings, walls, floors, lights, windows, fixtures, mirrors, counters, office equipment and vents. 6. Sweep and mop floors in uncarpeted offices and rooms, scrubs and buffs floor with rotary/automatic machines. 7. Transports trash and soiled linen from collection points to designated area and distributes fresh linen. 8. Moves furniture to clean. Dusts surfaces, damp-wipes furniture, and polishes metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms. 9. Assist in daily - checks supplies and orders replacements. 10. Maintains equipment in a clean and orderly manner, restock supplies as needed. 11. Identifies and reports any unsafe/unsanitary conditions to Facility Supervisor and contacts third party for resolution. 12. Attends required meetings as requested. 13. Enhances professional growth and development though in-service meetings and education programs. 14. Other job duties as assigned.
III. MAINTENANCE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1. Completes general maintenance tasks as specified by work orders or verbal requests 2. Maintains adequate supply of inventories following established guidelines, purchases equipment, supplies and materials, such as nails, screws, and so forth to be used in general maintenance and janitorial tasks. 3. Performs routine and specific repairing, remodeling and overhauling of equipment, furniture, cabinetry and fixtures. Touches up paint as needed. 4. Installs, operates new equipment. Assembles, moves, installs, and cleans furniture, fixtures, and carpets. 5. Maintains proper fluid levels on mechanical equipment such as air compressors and changes air conditioner filters (as needed). 6. Assesses the extend to which furniture, equipment, and supplies are broken and repairs or contacts Supervisor for repair as needed 7. Responds to emergency equipment problems and repairs or contacts Supervisor for repair as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, minor plumbing repairs such as water leaks and plugged sinks and toilets; minor clean-up of spills such as blood, vomit, chemicals, water, and so forth. 8. For electrical repairs contact Facility Supervisor for instructions, if not available contact the Practice Manager or the Chief Operations Officer. (Don't put yourself or others at risk) 9. Responds to requests for supplies, furniture, and equipment from off-site storage facilities. Maintains order in storage units. Notifies Practice Manager of items added to or removed from storage so that offsite inventory remains up to date. 10. Maintains facilities' exterior to include; yard maintenance such as mowing, trimming, sweeping parking lot, empting trash receptacles and washing down building walls, etc. 11. During inclement weather, assists with outside maintenance such as shoveling, sweeping, picking up debris and /or taking necessary precautions such as adding sand or salt to walkways.
IV. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one year of experience in facility/building/housekeeping/ground- keeping positions. 3. Prefer, general overall knowledge in facility/building/housekeeping/ground-keeping of a Health/Dental facility.
