Job Description

SPR Packaging is a leading company in the flexible packaging market. We are growing and expanding our team, looking for team members who are seeking a career opportunity that offers growth! Perform general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on a variety of low air compressors, chillers, HVAC, docks, doors, lights and other plant support equipment. Must be able to operate elevated height equipment such as scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc. Individual is required to have proven knowledge and skill of basic mechanical, basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic theory and procedure to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance and complete necessary repairs. You will apply your knowledge to the following areas in maintenance and repair of facility support equipment. Including but not limited to analyze, setup, and maintain equipment for safe and continuous operation. Must be capable of reworking or modifying electrical circuitry in order to change the status of equipment (motors, install relays and starters, install control circuits). Must possess a degree of skills with refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, blowing, and vacuum pumps and pneumatic circuits. This position will require supervising contractors working in the plant on related infrastructure equipment within your area. Supplies own tools sufficient to perform maintenance tasks including basic electrical test tools, industrial hand tools, some air and hand tools, plumbing tools, welding tools and a toolbox. Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes cleaning up after making repairs and applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals. You must remain on assignment until each job is complete or until released by a proper authority. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as trained during the various safety-related training programs. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Mechanical Electrical Pneumatic Air compressors Dryers Mechanical systems Facility lighting HVAC systems General construction Read electrical and hydraulic schematics. Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic circuits.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments. Ability to do basic math. Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods on hard surfaces. Ability to climb up to 60 feet through line stairs.
EDUCATION
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., Technical or vocational education) Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enter this information into an online database. Strong mathematical ability is essential. Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgement calls based on the situation. Ability to use CMMS software.
