ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Sales & Install Professional is a skilled, customer-focused tradesperson who can identify a homeowner's needs, recommend solutions, sell the work, and complete the work with quality craftsmanship. This is not a traditional hourly installer position. Our Sales & Install Professionals operate on a performance-based pay model, earning a percentage of the work they sell and complete. This creates an opportunity for motivated team members to directly impact their earning potential through excellent customer service, strong communication, efficient production, and quality workmanship. The ideal candidate is comfortable both working with their hands and communicating with customers. They should be able to assess repair needs, explain options clearly, provide solutions, and professionally complete the approved work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet with customers and assess their home repair, maintenance, and improvement needs. Identify additional repair or improvement opportunities while in the customer's home. Clearly communicate repair options, recommendations, and solutions to customers. Sell and complete approved handyman services within the scope of the Sales & Install role. Perform high-quality repairs, installations, and replacements for residential projects. Complete work efficiently while maintaining Hank's standards for craftsmanship and customer service. Properly document work, customer communication, and job progress within company systems. Maintain an organized company vehicle, tools, equipment, and materials. Follow all company safety procedures, processes, and customer-service standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have experience in multiple areas of residential repair and installation, including:

Tile & Shower:

Tile installation and repair, including floors, walls, backsplashes, showers, grout, and other minor tile repairs.

Carpentry:

General carpentry, trim, doors, hardware, shelving, and other common residential repairs and installations.

Drywall & Painting:

Drywall/sheetrock repair, tape and bed, texture matching, painting, and touch-ups.

Doors & Home Repairs:

Interior/exterior door repairs and installations, hardware replacement, and general handyman repairs.

Minor Plumbing:

Basic plumbing repairs and replacements that fall within the approved scope of handyman services.

Minor Electrical:

Basic electrical repairs and replacements that fall within the approved scope of handyman services.,

General:

General home maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation services like TV mounting, power washing, hanging fans, changing out cabinet hardware, etc.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Strong residential repair and installation experience across multiple trades. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable discussing repair needs, presenting options, and asking customers for the sale. Ability to diagnose problems and recommend practical solutions. Self-motivated and comfortable working in a performance-based compensation environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member. Professional appearance and communication. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to meet the physical requirements of residential handyman work.

COMPENSATION

This position utilizes a performance-based compensation model rather than traditional hourly pay. The stronger you perform, the greater your earning opportunity. Sales & Install Professionals earn a percentage of the work they personally sell and complete, allowing team members to directly influence their earning potential through performance, productivity, customer service, and successful job completion. Many of our current Sales & Install Professionals are earning in the $70,000-$90,000 per year range today. This reflects what technicians in this role are earning under our performance-based pay structure — it is not a guaranteed salary, minimum income, or base pay, and actual earnings will vary based on individual performance, sales, and completed work.
