A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Some OT required.

5+ years Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical focus to join our client's team in a specialized cable shop environment. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the mechanical reliability, physical integrity, and continuous operation of production machinery. Utilizing deep mechanical expertise with supporting electrical knowledge, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical wear and failures, and perform critical equipment repairs to keep specialized cable manufacturing lines running smoothly.
Core Responsibilities:
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Execute routine mechanical inspections and preventive maintenance (PM/POM) schedules on gearboxes, drive systems, pneumatics, and rotating machinery.
Mechanical Troubleshooting & Repair:
Systematically diagnose and repair mechanical failures, align drive assemblies, replace worn components (bearings, belts, bushings, hydraulics), and restore machinery to peak operational condition.
Machinery Servicing & Setup:
Perform mechanical calibrations, adjustments, and teardowns on specialized cable manufacturing equipment to ensure precise tension control and line efficiency.
Basic Electrical & Facility Support:
Diagnose basic electrical issues, assist with secondary electrical troubleshooting, and perform general shop and facility maintenance as needed. Shop Safety & 5

Maintain a safe, orderly, and hazard-free workstation, ensuring all mechanical guards, safety interlocks, and shop tools are properly maintained.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Mechanical Aptitude:
Extensive hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
Tooling & Fabrication Proficiency:
Expert knowledge of manual hand/power tools, mechanical alignment tools, precision measurement equipment, and shop machinery.
Diagnostic & Analytical Skills:
Strong mechanical problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify root causes of equipment failure, vibration, or mechanical wear.
Autonomy & Work Ethic:
Self-motivated, highly dependable, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage repair priorities independently in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Experience Cable & Wire Shop Equipment:
Direct experience maintaining mechanical components of wire drawing, cabling, stranding, or extrusion machinery.
Fluid Power & Drive Systems:
Strong background working with hydraulic power units, pneumatic controls, power transmission systems, and heavy mechanical drives.
Safety & Maintenance Practices:
Familiarity with Mechanical Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, rigging practices, or 5S organizational methods. Benefits of working with
