To Be Determined Job Description 261 workday calendar 8 hrs. per day General Maintenance Technician Pleasant Grove Independent School District is seeking a dependable, skilled, and service-minded individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Technician. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking on a wide variety of tasks. No two days are exactly the same. Our maintenance team plays an important role in providing safe, clean, functional, and welcoming schools for our students and staff. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a friendly, dependable, hard-working team member who takes pride in their work and has experience across multiple maintenance and repair areas. Candidates should have demonstrated skills in a variety of areas, including: General building maintenance and repair Light electrical work Plumbing repairs Carpentry and construction-related work Troubleshooting and problem solving Use of hand and power tools Basic computer and technology skills Electrical experience is a plus. Previous maintenance experience in a K-12 school environment is also a plus. Requirements Candidates must: Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Be able to successfully pass a criminal background check Be computer literate and comfortable using technology for work orders, communication, and other job responsibilities Be physically capable of performing maintenance work in a variety of conditions Be comfortable working indoors and outdoors and in hot, cold, dusty, or other challenging environments Be able to safely work from ladders, on roofs, at heights, and in other areas necessary to maintain district facilities Be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Demonstrate a positive attitude and professional, friendly interaction with students, staff, parents, and the public Work SchedulePrimary Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m- 4:00 p.m. Occasional overtime, after-hours work, emergency response, and additional duties may be available or required based on district needs. Compensation Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance Requirements Required to perform a variety of skilled work in one or more trades in the course of normal maintenance and operation of PGISD facilities.
- Required to be available for overtime, special events, games, and extra duties as assigned.
- Required to perform routine building and grounds maintenance and repair, as directed, to include electrical wiring, switches, faucets, plumbing fixtures, furnaces, carpentry repairs, carpet and vct replacement, sidewalk cleaning, power washing, painting etc.
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of PGISD equipment, i.e., mowers, string trimmer, brush hog, (all equipment related to grounds upkeep.) and all equipment related to duties.
- All other duties as assigned.
