Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on, dependable individual who takes pride in keeping a facility operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable using basic tools, able to troubleshoot problems, and proactive about identifying maintenance issues before they become larger problems. This position is not limited to assigned tasks. The expectation is that the maintenance team member will routinely walk the facility, identify issues, and take appropriate action or communicate the need for professional service. Gym Maintenance - Duties & Responsibilities Facility & Equipment Maintenance Perform basic repairs throughout the gym and facility Assemble and disassemble gym equipment, furniture, fixtures, etc. Tighten, adjust, lubricate, and inspect fitness equipment Identify damaged or malfunctioning equipment and report issues promptly Perform routine preventative maintenance on gym equipment Replace worn or damaged hardware, bolts, screws, cables, handles, pads, etc. Change air filters according to the maintenance schedule Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of cold plunges Monitor cold plunge water systems and report mechanical/water-quality issues Perform basic maintenance on saunas and recovery equipment Inspect and maintain doors, locks, hinges, handles, cabinets, and other fixtures Replace light bulbs and basic lighting components when needed Perform minor plumbing repairs such as tightening fittings, replacing basic fixtures, or addressing minor leaks Touch up paint and perform minor drywall/patching repairs Maintain and organize maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment Assist with moving and repositioning heavy equipment when needed Facility Upkeep Conduct routine walkthroughs of the facility to identify maintenance needs Address spills, leaks, loose flooring, damaged fixtures, and other potential hazards Keep mechanical/storage/maintenance areas clean and organized Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance throughout the gym Assist with trash/recycling and removal of maintenance-related debris Maintain cleanliness around recovery areas, equipment, and utility spaces Preventative Maintenance & Inspections Follow a weekly/monthly maintenance checklist Keep records of completed maintenance and repairs Perform routine inspections of equipment and facility areas Report equipment that is unsafe or requires professional repair Track maintenance supplies and notify management when supplies need to be reordered Coordinate with outside contractors/vendors when specialized repairs are needed Respond to maintenance requests from management and staff in a timely manner Expectations Reliable and dependable attendance Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize urgent maintenance/safety issues Basic knowledge of hand and power tools Comfortable lifting, moving, and assembling equipment Able to work in a busy gym environment around members Professional and respectful communication with members and staff Maintain a safe work environment and follow proper safety procedures Do not attempt electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, or other specialized repairs beyond your level of training—escalate to management/professional vendors when necessary Take ownership of identifying problems rather than waiting for someone to point them out Thank you for considering our company as your potential workplace.
