Job Description

Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the upkeep, safety, and functionality of residential properties by performing routine and emergency repairs. This role requires strong knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot issues efficiently. Working both independently and as part of a team, the Maintenance Technician helps maintain the overall condition and curb appeal of the property, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry systems. Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC units, including filter changes and minor repairs. Install, repair and maintain electrical fixtures, appliances, outlets, circuit breakers and plumbing components. Conduct minor carpentry, drywall repairs, painting and general property upkeep. Maintain property exteriors, interiors, landscaping and ensure proper trash disposal. Keep workspace and storage areas clean, safe and organized. Assist with special projects, facility upgrades and property improvements. Communicate maintenance updates to management and collaborate professionally with staff, clients and vendors. Requirements High School Diploma or
GED. 1-2
years of maintenance experience, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing. Valid driver's license with a clean record. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Work Conditions Work both indoors and outdoors work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity and rain. Use of standard hand and power tools, ladders and other maintenance equipment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing and lifting over 50 lbs as needed. Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) May require occasional emergency response outside of scheduled hours, as the facility operates 24/7. Travel may be required between other locations in Austin and Houston. Travel Nova Recovery Center operates and cares for clients 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day at the Residential locations. This position is crucial to the care of Nova's clients. As such, you may be required to travel to other Nova locations in the State of Texas. Refusal to travel to other Nova locations may be subject to disciplinary measures up to and including termination.
