A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.

Summary:
The Maintenance / Automation Mechanic is responsible for helping to maintain the facility, robotic material handling system, and equipment to ensure optimal operations such as handling electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, welding, painting, racking, and assists in basic mechanics and machinery repairs and troubleshooting.
Essential Functions:
The Maintenance / Automation Mechanic assists in accomplishing set goals and objectives of the organization. Works effectively with team by abiding by core values and best practices. Meets expectations and is accountable for achieving results.
Performs general inspections and maintenance tasks for the facility and operational equipment. Assists with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, welding, painting, racking, and other such functions to ensure facility operates efficiently and safely. Collaborates with sub-contractors when needed.
Assists with installation, troubleshooting, calibrations, and repairs of automated robotic and facility systems (electrical, electronic subsystems, plumbing, HVAC, PLC, lifts, etc.) along with operational equipment (automated robotic vehicles, conveyer belt system, electrical pallet jackets, forklifts, etc.), as needed. Understands and follows manufacturers' technical instructions relating to preventative maintenance procedures and service schedules along with troubleshooting system(s) to return to operational standards quickly.
Handles internal and external facility projects such as office renovations, dock door repairs, etc. from start to finish with high quality results and following blueprint specifications accurately and within code. Gathers automation bots, when needed. Always adheres to all safety requirements.
Onsite attendance is crucial and required along with being able to work overtime without prior notice and be on-call.
Requirements:
1-2 years of job-related experience with demonstrated competence is required. Automation systems experience a plus.
Licenses/certifications related to facility maintenance or skilled technical field are preferred.
Ability to perform warehouse facility and automation capabilities. Capable of troubleshooting systems, managing infrastructure, problem solving/resolution, and handling basic projects from start to finish.
Capable of handling the physicality of maintenance work duties and ensuring operational needs run smoothly to meet workload requirements. Associated Food Stores is an equal opportunity employer.
