WAL is seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Mechanic for the evening shift in its Facilities and Maintenance Department. This role involves responding to emergency troubleshooting and repairs to building equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and boiler systems. The ideal candidate will work effectively with a diverse team, respond promptly to community association requests, and has broad experience maintaining community property and building equipment. Your technical expertise and proactive approach will help maintain the highest standards of comfort, safety, and efficiency in our residential communities. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of building systems, common areas, parking facilities, recreational facilities, and grounds. Perform repairs on work order ticket systems provided by supervisor(s). This could include assisting other Maintenance staff members in performing daily routine duties, i.e., leak repairs, etc. Respond to notifications of elevator trap or out-of-service calls. Report investigative results to the Maintenance Supervisor on duty. Respond to service requests received via the Resident Services Office or the Patrol Services Department. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent GED preferred Preferred 2-4 years' experience with Basic Maintenance of building equipment, lighting, electrical, mechanicals, plumbing, door locks, etc. Technical Training School diploma/certificate (HVAC, Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Candidate must have a valid Driver's license for use of a company vehicle Basic knowledge of and ability to properly select and effectively use ladders and handheld power tools such as drills, saws, drain snakes, etc., while performing duties
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A pre-employment background check and drug screening will be required prior to hire.
BENEFITS
Generous benefits package, with health and vision, dental, and life insurance available. The employer pays 90% of the health insurance for the employee. A retirement plan is available after three years of service. Paid vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays are earned biweekly. Eligible for a retirement plan. Compensation Range $25.50-$29.00/hour
