Maintenance Technician Mechanical & Robotics Job Description This role supports the operations maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment throughout a high-volume facility. The Maintenance Technician ensures that all mechanical and robotic systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair material handling equipment used throughout the facility. Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on pneumatic systems to ensure reliable operation. Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to support continuous operations. Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and address them before they cause downtime. Support the operations maintenance team by responding to maintenance requests in a timely and effective manner. Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards while working on mechanical and robotic systems. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support ongoing equipment reliability. Collaborate with other technicians and operations staff to minimize equipment downtime and improve system performance. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environment. Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment. Practical knowledge of pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair. Ability to work with automated packaging and distribution equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance standards consistently. Capability to work both independently and as part of a maintenance team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with robotics or automated material handling systems. Familiarity with high-volume distribution or warehouse environments. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions. This position is based in a large, fast-paced operations facility that uses material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution technologies. You will work on-site around active equipment and moving machinery, collaborating closely with other technicians and operations staff. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment while performing maintenance tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
