3-4 months Job Description Our Client is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing, maintaining, and improving material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment throughout the facility. In this role, you install, maintain, and repair a wide range of mechanical and robotic systems to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Responsibilities Support the Operations Maintenance team by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining material handling equipment throughout the building. Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to ensure consistent and reliable performance. Inspect and service pneumatic systems, including identifying issues and performing corrective maintenance to minimize downtime. Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical, robotic, and material handling systems to extend equipment life and improve reliability. Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repairs in a timely manner to support continuous operations. Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, and upgrades as needed to support operational changes and improvements. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support maintenance planning and compliance. Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to resolve equipment issues and improve system performance. Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards while working on all equipment and systems. Essential Skills Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician working with mechanical systems. Ability to repair and maintain material handling equipment, including conveyors and related systems. Experience working with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair. Skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. Ability to read, understand, and follow technical instructions and maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for diagnosing equipment issues. Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment. Capability to work both independently and as part of a maintenance team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in an industrial, warehouse, or distribution center maintenance environment. Familiarity with automated or robotic systems used in material handling or packaging. Experience performing preventive maintenance programs on mechanical and pneumatic equipment. Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and support multiple types of equipment. Strong communication skills to coordinate work with operations and other maintenance team members. Work Environment You work in a fast-paced operations facility that uses material handling systems, pneumatic equipment, and automated packaging and distribution technologies. The role involves spending most of the time on the shop floor, moving throughout the building to service equipment and respond to maintenance needs. You may work around running machinery, conveyors, and automated systems, following strict safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices. The schedule may include shifts aligned with facility operations, and you may need to adjust to changing priorities or respond to urgent maintenance issues. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to safely perform maintenance tasks in this industrial environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
