Job Description

MULTI-CRAFT TECHNICIAN
This is a temporary position (potential to go permanent, but right now likely a 6-8 week assignment). Monday-Friday 3p-11p with potential required OT. Our pay range for this position is $36.90-39.80/hr Position Summary The Multi-Craft Technician supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a large manufacturing facility. This position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility maintenance across multiple trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in an active industrial environment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond effectively to changing operational priorities. Essential Functions Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and building systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues. Inspect equipment and systems to identify unsafe conditions, deficiencies, or potential failures. Diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repair methods. Complete minor electrical work, including replacing switches, receptacles, lighting components, motors, and related devices within permitted qualifications. Perform basic plumbing repairs involving fixtures, valves, piping, drains, and water systems. Support HVAC maintenance, including filter changes, belt replacements, inspections, minor repairs, and basic troubleshooting. Repair doors, locks, hardware, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other facility components. Use hand tools, power tools, meters, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment safely. Respond promptly to service requests and urgent facility needs. Complete assigned work orders accurately and document labor, materials, findings, and completed work. Coordinate with site leadership, vendors, and other technicians when specialized support is required. Maintain clean, organized, and safe mechanical rooms, shops, and work areas. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, fall protection, and electrical safety requirements. Participate in safety meetings, training, inspections, and continuous-improvement activities. Support shutdowns, special projects, equipment installations, and other operational needs as assigned. Perform additional duties consistent with the position. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Three or more years of industrial, commercial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred. Working knowledge of multiple maintenance trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repair. Ability to read basic equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and work instructions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to safely operate common hand tools, power tools, meters, ladders, and maintenance equipment. Basic computer skills and the ability to use an electronic work-order system. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, vendors, and leadership. Valid driver's license may be required. Relevant trade certifications or licenses are preferred but not required unless mandated by applicable regulations. Ability to climb ladders and safely work from approved lifts or elevated platforms. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, noise levels, and weather conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to work around operating manufacturing equipment while following all facility safety requirements. Work Environment and Schedule This position works within an active manufacturing environment and may require exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, temperature changes, and other industrial conditions. The technician must be available for the assigned shift and may occasionally be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, shutdown periods, or respond to urgent facility needs based on operational requirements.

$36.90 - $39.80 per hour
