Systems, LLC is currently seeking applicants for the Maintenance Associate position at our Fairfield, VA headquarters reporting to the Senior Production Manager.

The Company maintains four facilities:

one in Fairfield, VA, one in Waynesboro, VA, one in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and one in Massillon, Ohio.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment, machinery, tools, and facility systems used in the manufacturing of military tactical shelters and related expeditionary equipment. This position plays a critical role in keeping production operations safe, efficient, and operational while minimizing equipment downtime. The Maintenance Technician will perform, or (when applicable) manage subcontractors to perform, preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility-related systems. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, able to troubleshoot independently, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. This is a with the following responsibilities: Equipment & Machinery Maintenance

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures.
• Repair and maintain sewing machines, fabric-cutting equipment, welding equipment, presses, compressors, forklifts, material-handling equipment, and other production machinery as applicable.
• Diagnose equipment problems and determine the appropriate repair or replacement solution.
• Perform equipment adjustments, alignments, lubrication, belt and bearing replacement, and other routine maintenance.
• Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation, relocation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain and repair hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and production fixtures. Electrical & Mechanical Troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, switches, sensors, controls, and other electrical components within the scope of training and authorization.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Use appropriate diagnostic equipment, meters, gauges, and hand/power tools.
• Coordinate with outside contractors or specialized technicians when repairs exceed internal capabilities. Facility Maintenance
• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, including:
• Lighting
• Doors and locks
• Plumbing
• HVAC-related maintenance
• Compressed air systems
• Electrical components
• Building fixtures and landscaping
• Production areas
• Material-handling systems
• Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area. Preventative Maintenance Program
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance according to established maintenance plans.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and equipment downtime.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Help develop and improve preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of commonly used maintenance parts and supplies.
• Notify management when critical replacement parts or supplies need to be ordered. Safety & Compliance
• Follow all UTS Systems safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures before performing maintenance or repairs.
• Properly use required PPE and safety equipment.
• Report unsafe equipment, conditions, or practices immediately.
• Ensure equipment is returned to service in a safe and operational condition.
• Participate in safety inspections, investigations, and corrective actions as requested.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow applicable customer, government, and contract requirements related to manufacturing operations. Production Support
• Work closely with Production Supervisors, Operators, and Management to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Provide technical assistance to production personnel when equipment problems occur.
• Train operators on basic equipment care, proper operation, and preventative maintenance practices when appropriate.
• Recommend equipment modifications or process improvements that may improve safety, quality, reliability, or productivity.
• Support production during periods of increased workload or urgent customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• 3+ years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or related experience; equivalent technical training may be considered.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work effectively with production and maintenance personnel.

Preferred:

• Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical systems, HVAC, or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience maintaining industrial sewing or textile/fabrication equipment.
• Experience with welding equipment, cutting equipment, presses, compressors, or material-handling equipment.
• Experience with PLCs, motor controls, sensors, or industrial automation.
• Experience with preventative maintenance software or CMMS systems.
• OSHA or other applicable safety training.
• Forklift or other powered industrial truck experience/certification.

Pay:

$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
