This is a supervisory job. We are hiring one Field Lead to run our remodel and handyman crew. You will have a helper working under you from your first week. If you would rather just work your own list and not be responsible for anybody else, this is not the job for you, and that is fine. We would rather tell you now than three months in. Who we are 27 Contracting is a family run Class A contractor based in Powhatan. We do repair and remodel work on existing homes, mostly small to mid sized jobs across Powhatan, Chesterfield and the Richmond area. Most of our work comes from realtors and repeat clients, which means the standard is high and the same people keep calling us back. What the job actually looks like You get a work list for the job. You go out, you figure out the sequence, you run the day, you keep your helper busy and pointed in the right direction, and you get it done. The office handles the client calls, the estimating and most of the material ordering, so you are not chasing paperwork or quoting work. You are running the job.

Day to day that means:

Running a job start to finish off a work list Directing one helper, not just working next to him General remodel and repair work: drywall, trim, doors, framing repairs, tile, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, punch out Taking care of the house and the people who live in it. Drop cloths, dust control, cleaning up before you leave, and treating the customer's home like you would want yours treated. Logging your hours and receipts the same day Telling us early when a job is going to run over. Not the day it runs over. What you need to have Real remodel or handyman experience on existing homes, not just new construction A reliable vehicle and your own hand tools to start. We supply the larger tools and equipment out of the crew van. The ability to look at a scope and tell us if the time on it is wrong. We would rather be told than find out on day three. Willingness to supervise. This is the whole job. What we pay $24 to $27 an hour to start, depending on what you walk in with. At 90 days: A written review, and a raise if you are performing Company van with tools, so you stop putting miles on your own truck A real seat at the table as we grow. We are adding crews, and the leads we bring on now are the ones who will be running this thing in two years. What we do not have yet We will be straight with you. No health insurance, no 401k, no formal PTO policy today. Those are on the roadmap and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we do have is steady work, an owner who is on job sites every day, and a company that is building something worth being part of. We currently offer some paid holidays. Other benefits are in the works — we're a young and growing company.
