Job Description

  • Job Title: Maintenance Technician
  • Job Description
  • The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production machinery and equipment, including conveyors, coffee roasters, and packaging systems across all production lines.

This role focuses on minimizing downtime through effective use of PLCs, performing scheduled preventative maintenance, and ensuring accurate documentation in the computer system. The technician consistently follows food safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures to support a safe and efficient manufacturing operation.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Troubleshoot and repair machines, conveyors, coffee roasters, and packaging equipment on all production lines to ensure continuous and efficient operation.

+ Diagnose equipment issues using PLCs and related controls, and apply troubleshooting techniques to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

+ Perform preventative and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.

+ Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs, including work on motors, bearings, and related components.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to identify issues and determine appropriate repair methods.

+ Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping for all maintenance activities, including data entry into the computer system and ERP tools.

+ Follow all food safety and quality standards while working on production equipment in a food processing and packaging environment.

+ Adhere strictly to safety policies, including proper lockout/tagout procedures, to protect yourself and others during maintenance tasks.

+ Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and proactively address them before they lead to unplanned downtime.

+ Collaborate with production and operations teams to coordinate maintenance work and communicate equipment status and repair needs.

+ Use hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and maintenance technologies safely and effectively in a high-speed production facility.

+ Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing maintenance-related process improvements.

+ Operate within a 2-2-3 schedule on a 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. shift, responding to maintenance needs as they arise during production.

+ Ensure that all work areas remain clean and organized after maintenance tasks to support a safe and efficient work environment.

  • Essential Skills
  • + High school diploma and at least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, or an associate degree in a related field.

+ Demonstrated experience in maintenance repair within an industrial or manufacturing setting.

+ Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.

+ Proficiency in using PLCs for diagnostics and troubleshooting to decrease equipment downtime.

+ Experience performing preventative and preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.

+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.

+ Strong electrical maintenance skills, including work on motors, bearings, and related components.

+ Capability to perform the physical demands of the job, including working in occasionally tight spaces and lifting up to 60 lbs.

+ High level of attention to detail when inspecting equipment, documenting work, and following procedures.

+ Understanding and application of safe lockout/tagout policies and general industrial safety practices.

+ Ability to follow food safety and quality standards in a food processing or packaging environment.

  • + Experience in the food processing or packaging industry.

+ Knowledge of food safety and quality standards and how they apply to production equipment.

+ Experience in electrical, automation, and controls maintenance.

+ Experience with PLC programming or troubleshooting, with Siemens PLC experience considered a strong plus.

+ Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in a high-speed production environment.

+ Ability to use Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.

+ Experience working with ERP systems for maintenance tracking and inventory management.

+ Comfort working in a state-of-the-art, vertically integrated production facility with high-speed equipment.

+ Willingness to work a 2-2-3 schedule on a 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. shift.

The position follows a 2-2-3 schedule on a 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. shift, requiring comfort with working nights and rotating days.   • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $65395.20 - $96824.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
