Community Christian School of Baraboo Custodial & Maintenance Staff:
Job Description Position Purpose Community Christian School exists to use excellent education to support parents in their task of bringing up children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every employee contributes to fulfilling this mission through faithful service and Christlike example. The Custodial & Maintenance Staff member provides a clean, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for students, families, and staff. Because this position regularly interacts with students and works throughout the school day, this employee is an important member of our Christian school community and is expected to support and model the mission and values of Community Christian School. Christian Employee Expectations All employees of Community Christian School are expected to: Demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to share their Christian testimony. Believe the Bible to be God's inspired Word and the standard for faith and daily living. Affirm and support the school's Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, work ethic, and relationships with students, families, fellow staff, and the community. Demonstrate Christian character, integrity, humility, servant leadership, and dependability. Be actively involved in a Bible-believing local church whose core beliefs are in substantial agreement with the school's Statement of Faith. Support parents as the primary God-given educators of their children. Demonstrate a genuine love for children and a heart to serve others. Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students, families, and school business. Promote unity by avoiding gossip and practicing Biblical conflict resolution (Matthew 18). Participate appropriately in staff prayer, devotions, and school-wide Christian activities occurring as part of the normal workday depending on assigned scheduling. Primary Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the school on schedule. Complete basic maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance of school facilities and equipment. Help maintain safe, clean, orderly, and attractive buildings and grounds. Assist with lunch service, setup, cleanup, and other school-day needs as assigned. Assist with room setup for school programs, meetings, athletic events, and special activities. Perform seasonal duties including snow removal, groundskeeping, and outdoor maintenance. Interact with students, parents, visitors, and staff in a friendly, professional, and Christ-honoring manner. Provide limited student supervision, including recess, lunch, hallways, or common areas, when requested by administration. Promptly report maintenance, safety, security, or facility concerns to school administration. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration. Qualifications Demonstrates a mature and growing Christian faith consistent with the mission of Community Christian School. Dependable, trustworthy, self-motivated, and attentive to detail. Basic custodial or maintenance experience preferred; willingness to learn is equally valued. Able to work independently while cooperating well with administration and fellow staff. Demonstrates good judgment and the ability to appropriately interact with school-age children. Physically able to perform custodial and maintenance duties, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working both indoors and outdoors, with reasonable accommodation when applicable. Frequently able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally move heavier furniture, tables, equipment, and supplies with assistance or appropriate equipment. Able to push, pull, carry, and reposition furniture, equipment, and materials as needed to support school operations. Able to successfully complete required background checks and school safety training. Religious Employment Statement Community Christian School of Baraboo is a Christian religious educational institution. Consistent with its religious mission and applicable law, the school considers Christian faith, adherence to its Statement of Faith, and support of its Christian mission to be bona fide qualifications for employees serving in positions that contribute to the ministry and educational mission of the school. Compensation $15.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
