• Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
• Job Description
• The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of production machinery, including brake presses, turret presses, laser cutters, and welding machines. This role also operates and maintains manual equipment in the maintenance shop such as manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, and surface grinders to support reliable and efficient fabrication operations.
• Responsibilities
• + Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery, including brake presses, turret presses, laser cutters, and welding machines to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.

+ Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on fabrication and CNC machinery using established troubleshooting methods.

+ Operate and maintain manual shop equipment such as manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, and surface grinders to fabricate, modify, or repair machine components.

+ Use hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical and electrical components on production equipment.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to identify parts, understand equipment layouts, and guide repair and maintenance activities.

+ Perform tooling setup, adjustment, and maintenance to support efficient operation of fabrication and CNC equipment.

+ Conduct PLC-related troubleshooting as needed to support automated equipment performance and resolve control issues.

+ Inspect fabrication equipment regularly to identify wear, potential failures, and safety concerns, and complete corrective actions.

+ Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work orders and support continuous improvement in equipment reliability.

+ Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to maintain accurate records and support future troubleshooting.

• Essential Skills
• + 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience for Level III roles.

+ 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience for Level IV roles.

+ Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial and fabrication equipment.

+ Hands-on experience with CNC machinery maintenance and repair.

+ Ability to perform manual machining, including operating manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, and surface grinders.

+ Proficiency in reading blueprints; ability to read schematics is a plus.

+ Experience maintaining fabrication equipment such as brake presses, turret presses, laser cutters, and welding machines.

+ Comfort working with a variety of hand and power tools in a maintenance environment.

+ Experience with PLC troubleshooting in support of automated machinery.

+ Ability to perform repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance with attention to safety and quality.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in an industrial setting.

+ Experience in tooling setup, repair, and maintenance for production machinery.

+ Familiarity with welding processes and equipment in a fabrication environment.

+ Ability to interpret detailed mechanical and electrical drawings and apply them to maintenance tasks.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex equipment issues.

+ Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance teams.

+ Adaptability to work across different types of machinery and equipment as needed.

• Work Environment
• The role is based in a large, clean fabrication and assembly facility that focuses on manufacturing, assembly, and shipping of industrial radiators.

The environment can become very warm during the summer months, so comfort working in higher temperatures is important. Available schedules include a 1st shift, 2nd shift from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a shift premium, and a weekend shift on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., also with a shift premium. Work is performed around heavy fabrication and CNC equipment, using hand and power tools and standard maintenance shop machinery, with an emphasis on safety and proper use of tools and equipment.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $29.

50 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
