Its primary focus is to provide excellent quality and service throughout the manufacturing process. With 27 facilities across the United States and internationally, we take pride in having a culture that fosters an open, trusting and collaborative work environment. Most importantly we put safety first. We are in search of a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician for our plant in Middleton, WI. This position reports to the maintenance manager. This position ensures that maintenance services and support are provided to the production floor on a consistent and daily basis, and provides the opportunity to work on all aspects of the operation. This is a hands-on maintenance position that offers a challenging work environment where independence and creative thinking are encouraged. Primary Responsibilities- Follow all safety rules to ensure that people and assets are properly protected.
- Adherence to company policies, OSHA regulations and all applicable laws while observing safe work practices is required.
- Support daily production operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance routines to ensure machinery, production systems, utilities, and grounds are always in proper, safe working condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Rebuild spare components in maintenance shop for the ready spares inventory.
- Ensure spare parts inventories are maintained by documenting parts usage and alerting management to deficiencies.
- Utilize basic and advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose deficiencies in existing and new equipment.
- Determine root cause of equipment problems and apply appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide assistance to team members when troubleshooting and repair of machinery and systems.
- Collaborate with team to utilize equipment and improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Implement corrective actions identified by production and maintenance leadership teams to maintain overall equipment effectiveness.
- Participate in daily 5S activities in both the maintenance areas and general facilities.
- Support the development and installation of new automation equipment process, support and implement continuous improvement activities.
- Report deficiencies and suggest improvements to leadership team.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements
- A positive and collaborative attitude is essential.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing / industrial facility.
- HS diploma required as a minimum. Associates Degree in electrical/mechanical preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Capable of troubleshooting machines or systems.
- Must provide your own basic hand tools. Powered and specialty tools are provided.
- Basic metal working and pipe fitting skills required. Certifications a plus.
- Ability to properly use basic shop tools and equipment. Machine tools a plus.
- Ability to read drawings, prints and understand technical specifications.
- Ability to utilize tablets and PCs for basic, common functions.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
