Shift:
9:50pm - 6:00am This position will train on 1st shift before moving to 3rd shift. Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility systems. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently. The technician must have broad technical knowledge and strong problem-solving abilities to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance and Repair Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on production equipment and facility infrastructure. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related system issues. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Utilize hand and power tools, meters, and other diagnostic equipment in maintenance activities. Operational Support Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption to production. Perform light machining and fabrication duties as needed. Operate forklifts and scissor lifts to access equipment and complete repairs safely. Maintain communication with the production team to report status updates and coordinate support. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment operating guidelines. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or irregularities to supervision. Continuous Improvement Participate in identifying and implementing solutions to improve maintenance effectiveness and reliability. Provide input on spare parts inventory and equipment upgrades. Assist in projects related to facility improvements and new equipment installation. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, or equivalent experience required. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing maintenance role. Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic devices. Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment is preferred but not required. Basic computer skills and strong math aptitude. Personal Attributes High attention to detail with strong technical skills. Takes pride in maintaining clean and organized work areas and shop environments. Other Skills & Abilities Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat. Must have adequate vision (close, distance, color, and peripheral) and manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
